Deployment

So yesterday I got probably the best news I've gotten in awhile. A couple of moths ago when Adam found out his duty station was Kentucky he also found out that the unit he was being placed into was deploying in May.I can't tell you how long I cried for, I know it is something that happens in the Military, and it is going to happen eventually but I wasn't expecting it to be so soon. I mean he has been away this past year, we just got married and we wont officially be living under the same roof till April when I finish school. That is one year and 7 months apart, I know i need to get used to it because in the event of a deployment we will be a part for at least 9 months and we wont have daily phone conversations and there wont be any good night texts, but I was hoping for time together before he left. Well back to the good news, Adam found out yesterday that the unit he was being placed into was FULL, so he is being put into a different unit which isn't deploying anytime soon. I couldn't be happier, that means we will actually get some time as husband and wife in our new home together before he leaves to do the job he absolutely loves, even though it means spending days and nights without him I am still proud of the man he is and the things he has chosen to do.
With that news I am now even more excited about moving to Kentucky, though I am not so excited about the packing. I started with the outside storage closet and kind of got side tracked and forgot to continue. Our house is a mess and I have more stuff then I thought I had. Though I guess if I start now I can have it done by the end of December. The Adventure is about to start and I love this life I was given and I'm glad I have been given the opportunity to share this life with Adam, he truly is my best friend and my better half!!

MRS MISCHEL

Well its official, I am now Alyson Mischel!! The wedding was amazing, this past year has been crazy and hectic but all the hard work paid off. Family from all over the country came, well mostly Georgia and California but its enough spread to be all over haha. anyways things turned out great, I got to get all dressed and walk down the aisle to the love of my life! The rest of forever has never looked better :)

The reception was also amazing, food was great and the Cake from Pary Flavors was phenominal. The dj Immanuel Smart did an amazing job and the Photographer, well she was absolutely amazing Ella Lu Photography is definately someone i would recommend. We dont have all of our picture back but with the few sneak peaks i am pretty excited for the rest!!

I also want to say that anyone who tells you, you cant have a beautiful wedding on a cheap budget apparently never tried. we didnt spend over 7 grand and still had everything we could have ever wanted. Everything however was DIY, we did everything ourself besides the cake and the photography. anyways i could go on and on about how great everything was but i will just let you see for yourself!!

Wedding updates!

With the wedding only 3 weeks away, I know it came up fast, I still have a ton of things to do. Music being one of them. Being a country fan all I can think of are my favorite country songs. I hear songs on the radio and think oh I like this, but when it comes time to get home and add it to my list I can't think of the name. I also want a variety of songs so everyone will have a good time at the wedding, and that has become a problem. As of right now the music list for the dj has been the biggest pain.

Since we are going the easy route and only having one menu item, I decided it would be best to leave a menu out for all the quests so they know exactly what they are eating, which by the way, is to die for. I have those all done and printed out, all that is left is putting them together!

The favors are all picked out, they just have to be assembled and they too will be ready. My Dress is out being altered now and will be ready next week! I Can not wait, it is so beautiful, at least i think it is :) Other than that I think we are almost ready! 3 weeks will be here before you know it and I will be Mrs. Adam Mischel.

New on Netflix

Vampire Diaries, to try or not to try?! That was the question I asked myself earlier as i tried to find a new show to watch on netflix. I've heard good things about it but didn't want to find out it was just another Twilight thing. Because lets face it I'm not the biggest Twilight fan I find it kind of a waste of time and didn't want to waste what little free time I have on something that resembles that movie. After all the good feed back i got about the show and quite a few people telling me to watch it, I'd be hooked, I decided to try it and if i wasn't happy a few episodes in I could just go on to the next top 10 recommended shows netflix had picked for me.

Well let me tell you, I love it!! There is drama, love (well what i think is and might become) action and parts that make me jump, and I love when movies.TV make me jump. I'm not that far into the first season but i can already tell this will be my new netflix obsession till I reach the end of season three. Charlie seems pretty content with it, hes been laying in lap through all 5 episodes, and let me tell you that's pretty hard for my hyper 65 lb pup!

Anyways I've decided Its a good thing i recently discovered this show on netflix because now that the new seasons of all my other shows are starting up I'm going to need something to keep me busy on all the nights i don't have a show picked out. I find myself never actually watching live TV, Mostly because I aways seem to sign up for classes that are on Monday and Thursday nights. This season however i will get to watch Greys Anatomy the night its actually on,and I'm pretty excited about that, it was always hard to concentrate in class knowing something epic could be going on. and i could never wait till the next day to watch, id come home and stay up way to late. However How I Met Your Mother, will still have to be recorded and watched the following day. Tuesdays I watch Pretty Little Liars and as far as i can remember i don't have anything the rest of the week so those days might just have to become my designated Vampire Diaries nights. So

1950's House Wives

Bridal shower theme: 1950's housewives. and it was a success!

I know bridal showers are supposed to be thrown by someone for the bride and the bride isn't supposed to help with it, but how could I resist with such an awesome theme like this? It was thrown by my mom and my moms friend, which technically they did the majority of it I just requested the theme and the color scheme and requested that everyone dressed up! and the majority of people did, even if it was just an apron people made the effort which was what was the best part!

We had tons of finger foods, which my mom did her best to make things that housewives in the fifties would have at their parties, shes pretty amazing for that! We also had a rum punch that was to die for (and not to mention strong), and of course what would a bridal shower be without fun games! We had one that tied in with the 50's, a how well do you know the bride, which supprisingly it wasn't the people I figured it would be. Then bridal bingo, which is a bingo card that the guests fill out with gifts they think I will receive, and when a present gets open that is on your card you mark it off!

The lovely ladies who made this possible(my mom on the right, her friend on the left)

some decorations

the favors were mini coke glasses made into candles and cookie cutters(because i love to bake, just like every 50's housewife should ) :)

what would a 50's party be without a record player. Those are actual barbies from the fifties, that my mom owned(even though she was not alive in the 50s) and that green box is a recipe box, every guest was asked to bring their favorite recipe, so now i have tons of stuff to cook

Red and teal, my awesome color scheme :)

My mom and Mother in Law- I love them both!! Yes I know shocking, but I actually got an awesome mother in law :)

One of the girls who dressed up! Also my awesome bridesmaid

My girls! bridesmaids and my adorable flower girl.
only one missing was my maid of honor

Tons of gifts! that I love and am so grateful for the friends and family i have

Another one of the girls who dressed the perfect housewife part!

Like i said before the day was a success and I had so much fun! The wedding is getting closer now and this is definitely the beginning of all the festivities! Next up-the Bachelorette party!!

im back

I started the blogging thing once before and i didnt really get very far with it, School was crazy busy and I got very side tracked, but I figured I would start it up again especially since I am going to have a lot of free time on my hands come January. Right now im still in school but its not so busy at the moment so i have a little free time

Only 50 more days till mine and Adams wedding and I am pretty excited. Right now its just me, Charlie (the dog) and Luna (the cat), Adam (the soon to be husband) is off still in training. Adam recently got his duty station and come January we will all be moving to Fort Campbell Kentucky. Im a little nervous about the big move but honestly I am super excited. The only thing I am not excited about is Kentucky's lack of Beaches. I am deffianately a beach girl and my weekly summer trips to the beach just wont be possible. I will just have to find something else to occupy my time during the summer. Other than that I can't wait, Im obviously going to miss all my friends and family but i fell like a change of scenery will be good, somewhere different will give us a chance to start our lives together as husband and wife, did i mention only 50 more days!!

How much work is to much work?!

School is kicking my butt! It seems like all professors gather around and decide to make projects, assignments and papers all due one right after the other. first theres a diversity paper that 5-6 pages long, then 2 days later my Practice 2 Video project is due. the following friday I have a paper due on my bloody life, then 2 projects, one on disabilities and the other on gay and lesbian adoptions is due the following week. Its not that they are hard assignments, they are fairly easy but time consuming. It also doesn't help that I am a bit of a procrastinator :( So in reality I guess it is slightly my fault. But Im not going to admit that just yet.
Another issue with school is class discussions, i absolutely hate those.  The teacher is always telling me i dont speak up enough, and i dont really but i prefer sitting and listening to everyone elses opinions than voicing my own. It doesnt mean i dont pay attention it just means i dont like speaking. And the reason is when I finally do speak my opinion about something I get attaked, not physically but verbally. Apparently If you dont agree with everyone else and have something different to say, people dont like that. I mean its a social work proffesion for goodness sakes everyone should have realized by now that its okay to have your own opinion. Oh well I guess i will go back to just listening from now on, so i dont feel like so much of an idiot. Its just a few more weeks left, then a few more semesters and i will finally have my BSW in Social work. I can not wait to be done with school

Weddding Planning..

So the wedding planning continues. As I've said before its a lot of hard work. I think Ive spent the last hour Looking at random sites such as Pinterest, TheKnot.com, and just using google in general to find things and trying to come up with ideas. So Far I've been successful with finding my dress and Bridesmaids dresses, picking the colors which are Wine (a burgundy/maroonish color) and a light pink. I've chosen the theme and the venue. Then there is the florist that is going to do my flowers which Ive chosen Roses and Calla Lillie's. I also have My photographer- Ella Lu Photography and the DJ and a wedding coordinator. The one thing I haven't chosen is the Bakery and the kind of cake.

As most guys do, Adam says he doesn't care what the cake is, but it has to be good. That really doesn't help me at all because my 2 rules are it has to be amazing and at least one layer has to be chocolate. I'm a sucker for anything chocolate. After looking at different flavors of cakes the different kinds of chocolate cakes are endless. I guess my main issue of choosing a bakery is because i don't know anyone. My flowers are being done by my aunt and cousin, The photographer is my soon to be Sister in Law and the DJ is a good friend from College and the wedding coordinator is a friend from High School. I don't Know anyone who bakes cakes therefore I am keeping my options open, so that i can possibly find the perfect place to make the perfect cake that everyone will LOVE!

Another thing that i am having problems with are the decorations. For the most part the venue does a lot of it and we just need the little stuff to go along with the theme. I keep seeing a lot of things that I like but cant figure out how to make it work with the theme so everything ties in together. I guess that's where the wedding coordinator comes in. Hopefully she is okay giving advice on what looks good!
Well i guess its time to get back to more searching so i can make this the Perfect wedding for Adam and I!

Now I Remember...

Why I don't drink like i used to. Back in the day, and by this i mean 3 or 4 years ago, I could stay up half the night with friends drinking and be able to get up the next morning and head to work. Not that I'm proud of this but it is what it is. Now at the old age of 23 I can have just a few drinks and then the next morning i cant even move. Last night I had a few friends from out of town over and we stayed up pretty late playing drinking games like we used to do. At noon today I had to make myself roll out of bed.
I have to say I do not miss drinking one bit and probably wont drink more than a glass of something for a very long while. I do have to say I find it funny that in most cases people drink and party a lot before the age of 21, they go crazy and do things they probably shouldn't but do it anyways because they are on their own. Then when they turn 21 they don't drink as much and by the time they are 23 they barely ever drink anymore. At least with my friends, my Fiance and myself I have noticed this has happened. I guess everyone has to grow up at sometime! School, Work, Family and friends become more important than partying and being drunk. To bad its not something we all realized at 18 and 19.

Spring Break 2012

My 2012 Spring break week has been fill with the exact same things i do every week. Lying on the couch, watching tv, working on a little homework and going to work... Finally four days in I decided to change it up a bit and went to the beach. Ashley and I spent our entire day tanning in the nice breezy weather. However half way through our visit we realized we weren't laying with the sun, and it was to late to do anything about it and i was burnt. Not all over just on one side the rest of my body is still ghostly white. Non the less the day was still a fun day on the beach and probably my only spring break adventure! Today I was back at work and tomorrow I'll be doing the same.

I do take back the statement about my week being filled with the exact same things it is every week. Its not every week i get to go Wedding dress shopping! Out of only a few dresses that i tried on I found THE ONE!! I think my bridesmaids tried on more dresses than i did till we found one that i liked and all 3 of them liked as well.
So i guess it wasn't a waste of a spring break!

My week was filled of :
Dress shopping!

 Tanning at the Beach!
 Cleaning
And being lazy and watching TV!

Trying to stay sane while still being bored...

So im new at this at might possibly be bad at it, but im giving it a try. So here it goes!

Today has been a super long day, it's 6:30 and i feel like i should be getting ready for bed. It's spring break this week and I feel like i should be out doing something exciting, instead I'm sitting at home alone, well almost alone, I'm here with Charlie and Luna. Ive also done a little bit of wedding planning which is pretty exciting, except for the fact that I am pretty indecisive and cant make decisions on anything. I have a fiance who is in army and is away in training at the moment so his input is minimal. non the less things are coming along pretty well! But for now its time to get back to the only two who are keeping me some what company while Adam is away!
